DUBLIN – With Ireland’s daily infection rate reported last evening at 3,963 there is a need to look back at where the world was earlier this year. Earlier this year, on 18 May 2021, I had the opportunity to follow-up with the Ambassador of India to Ireland, Mr. Sandeep Kumar on the 1st anniversary of an interview I had conducted with him in 2020 at the start of the pandemic.
Beyond the pandemic, His Excellency shared the work of the Embassy of India to Ireland, which had not closed a single day during the pandemic and their dynamic outreach to the Indian-Irish community which included local support in major centres around Ireland. We also discussed vaccines, Irish-Indian mutual aid, vaccine manufacture, the state of the Indian economy, the possibility for reform on the United Nations Security Council and more.
